The MEF is a 501 c (3) industry association in California, USA that is the enabling force for the development and implementation of agile, secure and orchestrated network services for the digital economy and today’s hyper-connected world. With more than 200 leading member companies, including 130 service providers, network services are delivered through automated, virtualized and interconnected networks powered by Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0), Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO), SDN and NFV. (More information https://www.mef.net/membership/membership-overview)

“Carrier Ethernet has become thetelecom industry’s biggest success story of the last decade. A major milestone was reached last year when, for the first time, the broadband share of Carrier Ethernet services exceeded the sum total of all legacy telecom services worldwide, making it the dominant technology in the carrier space.”. – Nan Chen, President, MEF.

MEF certification has become the driver in the standardization of Ethernet services, which is becoming the leading technology in network installations throughout the world. Ethernet is the leading technology due to its ease of use, cost-effectiveness and flexibility, and enables WANs to interoperate interconnections across a variety of services, including – but not limited to – cloud computing, mobile backhaul and broadband. MEF accreditation is increasingly demanded by customers and Ufinet has obtained MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE2.0) to meet the growing demands in Latin America and Europe.

Especially as a service provider for the LATAM and EMEA regions, Ufinet has a unique need to meet the demands of a global system, as networks become increasingly important to each other through peering agreements and buy and lease capacity. MEF certification enables interconnection, management and performance to be standardized and seamless as data flows across different carrier networks.

MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE2.0) recognizes the knowledge and ability of telecommunications professionals to understand the Carrier Ethernet service specifications defined by the MEF. Ufinet’s certification indicates to its global customers that the company has the capability to deliver Ethernet excellence.

Today, there are 213 CE 2.0 services in 71 service providers in 26 countries.

Ufinet is a MEF Certified Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE2.0) Member for E-LINE, E-LAN, E-TREE and E-ACCESS services, allowing us to offer our customers global coverage with interoperable interconnection, management and performance.
