In 1998, Unión Fenosa incorporated UFINET, a new company formed from the company's own telecommunications department, which historically had been managing the services required for electricity operation and which, from that moment on, began to provide services to external telecommunications operators. UFINET acquires majority stake in Netell Telecom The agreement was signed during the International Telecommunications Week (ITW) and allows UFINET to enter the Brazilian market, one of the most important in Latin America. In addition, with NETELL's network coverage in the São Paulo metropolitan area and broader regional reach, this acquisition will enable UFINET to better serve its global customers in Latin America.
UFINET expands its presence in the Brazilian market with the acquisition of NB Telecom, adding more than 750 km of network in the state of Rio de Janeiro, connecting the main data centers in the region.
