Ufinet participated for the first time as a connectivity sponsor in LACNIC 29, one of the most important Internet events in the region, which brings together experts and representatives from academia, civil society, the business world, governments and professionals from the telecommunications industry.
The meeting was hosted by Panama’s National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) and took place at the Hard Rock Panama Hotel from April 30 to May 4.
During the event, tutorials and various panels were given by prominent speakers, who addressed topics such as IPv4 exhaustion, the main challenges for deploying IPv6 in the region, security, among others.
The Public Policy Forum, where proposals on how to allocate numerical resources are discussed, was also held, and the first edition of LACNIC’s Technical Forum was held.
In addition, for the first time at a LACNIC event, the symposium of FIRST, a leading global organization in incident response, was held with the participation of leading international experts.
